I’ve always been drawn to stories of great expeditions, pushing past the limits, braving the elements, and discovering something new along the way. That’s what led me to create Grit and Resolve, a game about facing the wild, making tough choices, and seeing how far you can go before the world pushes back.
Right now, the game is built around two key resources: Grit and Resolve. Grit represents your endurance and effort, while Resolve reflects your ability to stay focused and push forward. Each turn, you’ll face challenges drawn from an expedition zine, relying on your wits, teamwork, and resource management to overcome obstacles. Whether you’re scaling a sheer cliff or braving a snowstorm, every choice carries weight, shaping your journey as you push toward your goal.
The challenges in our zines are resolved using a combination of playing cards and dice, where the decisions you make determine the risks and rewards. Push too hard and your Grit runs dry. Lose Resolve and you may not make it home. There’s no singular Game Master, this game is about collaboration, and every challenge emerges from the choices you make, whether you’re playing solo or with a group.

All you need is a deck of playing cards, a handful of six-sided dice, the core rules, and one of our expedition zines to guide your journey. Each expedition zine presents a unique setting and challenges, from scaling towering mountains to exploring ancient ruins or surviving the harshest environments. Whether you’re diving into a quick adventure or taking on a longer expedition, every session brings new surprises and challenges.

Grit and Resolve is being shaped through our Expedition Game Design model, where each iteration brings us closer to the most engaging and immersive experience possible.
